Sometimes he cheated in the identity of RAB, sometimes DB

 Riyad bin Salim. His age is around 24. Driver by profession. But sometimes he does various kinds of fraud by pretending to be police, sometimes DB, and sometimes RAB. He stole money in the name of giving a job. In view of these allegations, RAB-7 arrested him from Chandgaon area of Chittagong city on Friday midnight.


RAB says that Riyad used seven to eight types of identification. He was also involved in drug trade. Once worked as a private car driver of an officer working in DB-Police. While doing that job, he used to take money from different people. Around 2019, an army captain created an identity card. He then tried to obtain financial benefits from various contractors with identity cards.


According to RAB, Riyad introduced himself as an officer of RAB at one stage. For this, he bought the SIM in accordance with RAB's official mobile phone number. Later, using that number, he tried to collect money by talking about warrants and cases to various people. After receiving these complaints, he was arrested last night from a house of Hajir Pol of Chandgaon police station in the city. A few fake IDs and IDs were recovered from him.


Riyad's house is in Patia Paikpara, Chittagong. His father's name is Salim Uddin. There is a case against him in Chawkbazar police station of the city of woman-rape. Senior Assistant Director of RAB-7. Nurul Abshar told Prothom Alo that Riyad has been handed over to the police station to take further legal action.

Two persons named Al Imran (45) and Shaukat Fakir (53) died after taking 'Kabiraji medicine' in a bus from Ashulia in Dhaka on February 6. Both of their homes are in Gopalganj. Imran lived with his family in Tongi. And Shaukat's house was in Ashulia. They boarded the bus and left for their respective workplaces. But on the instigation of the alleged Kaviraj in the bus, they took the medicine. After falling unconscious, the fraudster's team got stuck with the money they had. Two later died in hospital. The police have arrested four members of the organized crime gang in connection with the separate incident. They are Md. Shamsuddin (53), Md. Nazrul Islam (45), Akram Ali (38) and Delwar Hossain (40). Among them, Akram gave a confessional statement in the court admitting the responsibility of Imran's murder.
